The story of the three little pigs (England 1) This Story was really different then the story I heard a long time ago, when I was a kid, it seemed so pleasant and happy and morally understanding for children of all ages. As a child reading this book I remember the three little pig just tried to build a house that would be strong enough so that the big bad wolf could not blow it down and get to them.  Each pig used his own type of material that he thought could be the strongest in preventing the big bad wolf of destroying it.  They failed twice but the one that used a bricks to build the house was the best and the big bad wolf could not blow his house down.  The understanding of the story was to take your time and prioritizing and you will able to get the job done and it will be done right.  In the England version 1 of the three little pigs there is a far more different outcome although the pigs still have problems with the strength of their homes and keeping them safe from the big bad wolf, in this story there is so much more going on, Its very graphic and very dark.  It seems that the pigs were living with their mother and she grow old and was unable to tend to them.  So she sent them out to find materials to build their own homes so that they could protect themselves from the wolf, they still have the problem of using the wrong materials and they fail twice, but in this story the wolf is not called the big bad wolf, just wolf.  Also the wolf says that he is going to use the pig for dinner when he invites his friends over. In the story I read as a child I do not remember the wolf storing the pigs at his house and or trying to convince the last pig to meet him at different places in order to bring him out of the house so that he could capture him. Over all the stories have the same characters, but not the same meaning.  The meaning in the England story had nothing to do with, prioritizing or getting things done the right way.   I feel it was only telling how the wolf just wanted to eat the pigs and that he was fooled by the pigs because they scared him.  For me fairy tales are writing for meanings and lessons to be learned as a child, not just a story of killing and eating people.   I would not want my child to have to go through life scared because they are going to be thinking that everyone in life is out to get them.
